The challenge
Why building a charging network stalls
Most operators attempt to stitch together four disconnected systems before serving their first driver.
The fragmented status quo
- Legacy CSMS systems that know nothing about credit cards or banking ledgers
- Separate billing tools that fail to handle variable charging speeds or idle penalties
- Manual weekly reconciliation between roaming records and actual driver receipts
The unified Tenerji stack
- Hardware orchestration and Tapsilat payments designed into one shared core
- Upfront card holds that capture the exact kilowatt hours delivered upon disconnect
- Automatic partner settlement with zero manual spreadsheet reconciliation
Outcomes
Measurable advantages for charging network operators
Designed to turn charging stations into reliable, cash positive infrastructure.
Deploy stations in 14 days
Connect any OCPP charge point on day one and launch your branded driver web application in two weeks without building custom backend services.
Eliminate billing discrepancies
Tapsilat places an upfront card hold when drivers plug in and captures the exact energy meter amount upon session completion.
Unlock roaming revenue immediately
Push live locations, session records, and automated tariffs to Hubject and OCPI roaming partners without writing custom protocol code.
Automate host settlements
Calculate station host payouts, split marketplace commissions, and disburse balances automatically on an atomic ledger.
Simple onboarding
How you launch on Tenerji
From unboxing hardware to collecting your first charging revenue in three steps.
Connect your chargers
Register OCPP 1.6 or 2.0.1 charge points over secure WebSocket in under 5 minutes with automated health verification.
Set tariffs and branding
Configure time based energy pricing, idle parking rates, and customize your operator logo, colors, and tenant domain.
Collect payments automatically
Drivers tap, plug in, and charge while Tapsilat handles card holds, driver wallet balances, and vendor payouts.
Architecture
Two core systems operators usually buy separately, engineered as one
Charging orchestration and financial settlements work together so a session, a tariff, and a payment ledger never drift apart.
01 Charging orchestration
One CSMS for every charger
Connect any compliant OCPP charge point and control your complete estate from a single control plane with roaming included.
- OCPP 1.6, 2.0.1, and 2.1 complete CSMS message suite over WebSocket
- Remote start and stop, smart energy balancing, and remote firmware upgrades
- OCPI and OICP roaming covering CPO, eMSP, and roaming hub roles
- Station bookings, connector reservations, and a flexible tariff pricing engine
02 Embedded payments
Money at the plug handled by Tapsilat
Authorize, capture, refund, and settle every charging session with driver wallets, subscriptions, and host payouts through Tapsilat.
- Pre authorization holds with capture on session stop and instant release of unused funds
- Driver wallets and balance topups recorded on an atomic double entry ledger
- Driver subscriptions, marketplace commissions, and automated vendor disbursements
- Ad hoc direct payments via browser without requiring an app download
Platform telemetry
Live charging network activity
Direct metrics from connected stations, refreshed automatically every few seconds.

Questions and answers
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to common technical, financial, and operational questions.
Which charging hardware models work with Tenerji?
Any charger supporting OCPP 1.6 JSON, 2.0.1, or 2.1 connects directly over WebSocket. The platform is pre tested against major hardware manufacturers and includes an ESP32 firmware implementation for custom controllers.
How are charging payments and credit card holds processed?
All charging transactions flow through Tapsilat, our unified payment gateway. When a driver initiates a session, Tapsilat holds a pre authorization amount. When the plug disconnects, the exact kilowatt hour cost is captured and any remaining funds are released automatically.
Can we offer driver prepaid wallets and balance topups?
Yes. Drivers can maintain prepaid balances or pay on demand per session. All wallet balances, topups, and loyalty point deductions live on a shared atomic ledger managed via Tapsilat.
Does Tenerji support roaming on Hubject and OCPI networks?
Yes. Tenerji provides native support for OCPI 2.2.1, OCPI 2.3.0, and OICP 2.3 Hubject. Your stations can receive charging traffic from external roaming apps, and your drivers can charge across partner networks.
How does multi tenant branding work?
Every tenant operates in isolated data tenancy. You can run one brand or twenty brands on the same deployment, each with its own logo, custom colors, distinct tariff plans, and isolated accounting.
Can we bill fleet accounts and corporate vehicles?
Yes. The platform includes a dedicated fleet manager role, corporate billing contracts, post billing invoicing, and vehicle tag authorization with monthly dunning cycles.
What happens if a station loses internet connection during a charge?
Charging sessions continue locally on the hardware. When network connectivity restores, the charge point transmits buffered meter values, and Tenerji settles the transaction through Tapsilat with full audit logging.
Can we export our operational and financial data?
Yes. All charging data records, financial ledger transactions, and station telemetry can be queried via the metered REST API or exported directly in CSV and JSON formats at any time.
How quickly can we migrate our existing stations from another CSMS?
Stations can be migrated with a configuration update directing their OCPP WebSocket endpoint to your Tenerji gateway. Most operators complete station reassignment within 48 hours without downtime for drivers.
Try the platform with zero financial risk
